BOYSEN reigned supreme in the 1st Edition of Sports Communicators of the Philippines (Scoop)-Negros Occidental Chapter Non-rated Trio Bowling Extravangaza held at the Super Lanes of the Goldenfield Commercial Complex in Bacolod City.
Grupo Retirado topped the consolation finals of the non-winning entries in the same event.
In the battle of the top 10 players, Johann Genolos of Silverado ASSFBi was the winner with 229 points.
The Boysen bowlers managed by Christian Yu, who carried the twice-to-beat advantage in the up-the-ladder system, defeated the Edgar Allain del Rosario’s squad ASSFBI in the deciding game, 355-317 to bring home the title and the top prize of the month-long tournament.
ASSFBI downplayed the champion team in their first game encounter, 345-333 to forge a rubber match.
Donning the Boysen uniform were Otoy Jardio, Odong Paran, Essho Garcia, Toto Flores, Joval Damascos, Sonny Elegado, and Archie Graciano, while carrying the colors for ASSFBI were Ulysses “D’Roadrunner” Pacheco, Hernand Garciniego, Pat Mendoza, and Ricky Zamora.
Silverado ASSFBI composed of Cecil Ramon Silverio, Johann Genolos, Nonoy Gatila and Orly Guiljon settled for second runner-up after absorbing defeat in the hands of sister team ASSFBI in the semi-finals.
Grupo Retirado represented by Joe Pahilanga, Ely Espartero, Edwin Monserate, Nene Bunda and Ver Villar ruled in the consolation contest after winning over six other teams in the non-winning entries.
The tournament’s top 10 players were Odong Paran (Boysen), Joe Ermeo (Bago City Strikers), Ulysses Pacheco (ASSFBI), Carlo Boyero (LDC Aircon), Butch Oberio (OMJB), Hernand Garciniego (ASSFBI), Nonoy Gatila (Silverado/ASSFBI), Otoy Jardio (Boysen), Oscar Clenen (OMJB), and Johann Genolos (Silverado/ASSFBI).(PR)
