PH U12 booters compete in China

FIFTEEN young Filipino booters from Dynamic Football Club Under 12 football team alongside reinforcements from Iloilo FA, La Salle Greenhills and De La Salle-Zobel flew to China over the weekend.

They are seeing action in the Soong Chin Ling Cup Under 12 Youth Football from August 6 to 13 in Qinhuangdao and Beijing.

The young standouts include Dynamic’s Jan Diola, Robert Indiape, Matthew Jochico, Lance Locsin, Rodrigo Marinas, Timothy Sarrosa, Jefferson Tolimao, Ronan Treyes, Asher Vicera and Joshua Yee together Francis Botavara form Iloilo FA, Lucas Andan and Jan Donato of La Salle Greenhills, and Viggo Herce and Jared Pena of De La Salle-Zobel.

The Dave Javellana-mentored boys are products of DFL tournaments in Negros Occidental and, competing in this tournament abroad will help improve the level of play in the country.

The Philippine side will play in an 8-a-side format tournament against other countries and clubs across Asia.

Leading the Philippine contingent are Negros Occidental Football Association and DFC president Ricardo Yanson Jr., together with Nofa Secretary-General Ronald Allan Treyes, goalkeeper coach Ian Combate, and defensive coach Noriel Revilla. (HGD)
