THE Philippine National Police (PNP) has created a “Task Force Jordan” relative to the ongoing search and rescue operation for abducted businessman Jordan Chua, 26, of Sta. Clara Subdivision, Bacolod City.

The Task Force will be spearheaded by Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo) director Manuel Felix with members composed of the PNP offices of Bago City and Bacolod City, said Noppo spokesman Police Chief Inspector Jefferson Descallar.

Descallar said a cartographic sketch of the four suspects who abducted Chua around 7:30 a.m. on March 6 in Purok Michell, Barangay Dulao, Bago City will be out on Monday.

Jordan’s biking buddy Joel Arroyo is recuperating at the Bacolod Adventist Hospital after he was shot by the suspects when he attempted to help him while he was dragged by the suspects into a silver gray Toyota Grandia Van.

Their two other biking companions, Mercurio Salazar and John Lopue, who were trailing them told the police that the van slowed down and the suspects stared at them.

Some bystanders said the suspects were trailing the four when they were still at the Barangay Felisa road in Bacolod City. They were able to escape until the suspects reached them in Barangay Dulao, Bago City.

Descallar said the police continued to track down the suspects and that they are trying to locate the van without a plate number used by the suspects. The police initially theorized the abduction as business-related.

Chua is a known magnate in the fishing industry in Zamboanga. He owns several business establishments in Bacolod City like a franchise of Rai Rai Ken, a Japanese Restaurant and Gerry’s Grill. His father who is reportedly based in Zamboanga arrived in Bacolod City last Friday.

The police theorized that the suspects may have possibly fled through the Abuanan-Murcia Road and exited either through Barangay Alegria going out in Talisay City or from Murcia town going to Don Salvador Benedicto to San Carlos City. The suspects may also have travelled from Bago City going to the southern part of the province.

Reports have it that the Chua family has not received yet any call from the abductors of Jordan.

The victim reportedly received some threats prior to the incident last Friday and that his family even warned him not to go out alone.
