THE University of St. La Salle marks its 57th foundation anniversary Friday with a series of activities.
The activities reeled off Friday with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m., at the Sanctuario de La Salle, welcoming the Jubilarian Class of 1959 which also includes USLS president Bro. Raymundo Suplido, FSC, who belongs to the Grade School jubilarian class.

Thursday night’s cocktail reception was marked by the viewing of exhibits and a program starting with a prayer by Bro. Arian Lopez, FSC, director of the Bahay Pagasa Youth Center.
Suplido delivered his welcome remarks following that of Cugie Loarca, director of the USLS Alumni Relations Office.
Friday’s celebrations will be highlighted by a Mass of the Holy Spirit with Rev. Fr. Nitodel Soriano as main celebrant, Rev. Fr. Roby Sian as co-celebrant and homilist.
This will be followed by the honoring rites and the launching of the Institutional Awards at the USLS Coliseum followed by a campus tour for the Jubilarians.
Meanwhile, a luncheon for the Jubilarians will be held at noon Friday together with an agape lunch, which will be observed among the various units of the university where guests and visitors will be free to join and fellowship with in the spirit of the celebration.
At 8 p.m. Friday, the Silver Jubilarians USLS-IS Class ’95 and the Golden Jubilarians of Class ’59 will host the green & white dance party featuring the Checkmates Band and a Star of Miss Saigon Ms. Analin Bantug. Tickets for the evening bash will be sold at P100 with proceeds to be given to the Bahay Pagasa.
This will immediately follow the “Birthday Bash: La Salle’s Got Talent” program at the USLS Coliseum featuring the university’s talents from all levels.
Earlier Thursday, the USLS Center for External Relations headed by director Rhoderick Samonte, hosted a media meet attended by representatives from the various media organizations in Bacolod City as the university’s way of strengthening its linkages with the media. (HCV)
