Who can stop Manny?

WHEN people talk of Manny, it's either Pacquiao or Villar.
Of course, the former Senate president is the favorite of the children and those who are after the money, or Manny. Pacquiao too is the target of everybody- either to shake his hands worth millions or ask some "barato".
What do they have in common. Both are into sports. The boxer running for Congressman likes fighting cocks. The poor man's favorite likes billiards - easy to remember and Filipinos idolized Bata, Django and the rest of the pool masters.

But Manny is the center of attraction for now. As expected he beat Joshua Clottey.
The Ghana native tried to hide his face remembering how Manny adorned his former partners in the ring. The Pacman got all the judges nods for a unanimous D. Clottey's playing D did not excite boxing fans all over the world. But why bother. He still got the same talent fee dancing with Manny.
So the GenSan hero is now free to convince Saranggani folks to put him where no Filipino boxer of his caliber set foot into. There will be nobody, nobody like him. World class boxer, entertainer and possibly to follow his friend Monico in the halls of Congress.
Who can stop him now? Everybody loves a winner. Probably even those unborn are squirming in their mothers' wombs when Pacman got a hoohum decision Sunday. Halleluiah... RP is great again.
It will take another disaster of worst magnitude for us Filipinos to go down and feel small in the eyes of the world. For now, just relish the fact that we are all winners in Pacquiao. Aren't you glad that the Philippines stood still for several hours forgetting the problems around us?
Are you not happy that for a while you stopped looking at those political advertisements and jokers hanging around in cable stations giving all the promises, blah blahs of their plans in case they win in May?
Someone was tempted to spit on his TV set looking at a man running for a provincial post (again?) preaching to help his constituents and "ILA buligan kay ATUN gid ni sila". Yak. He cannot even help some of the retirees in his DA office (he overextended by virtue of Supreme Court ruling which was later on reversed) when the Civil Service Commission ordered him (twice) to pay those poor retired employees.
Now he is back in the road to perdition. Those retirees usual chorus: kabay pa ma pierde.
And talking of pierde, it is a good thing Manny won. If Pacquiao lost, somebody at City Hall will say that he is the lucky charm. Now, that bad thought is erased.
If you still doubt Manny will not go to Congress, think again.
If today is election day, Manny will have no enemy.
If there are - they will be fighting like Clottey.
