1st 30-km foot race slated



THE FIRST lung busting 30-kilometer foot race is all set to fire off on December 6 in commemoration of the 30th SLU-Boy's High School batch 79.

Aside from the 30-kilometer foot race, three exciting side events will also be lined up for the activity, which will include a 3, 5, and 10 kilometers run which will be managed by the Cool City Running Group sponsored by Boy's High Class 79 and co-presented by Tea House SM.

The race will start at 5 a.m. for the 30-kilometer run and 6 a.m. for the side event which will fire off at the Burnham Park Lake Drive in the run also presented by Derilles Corp. and Rico's purified drinking water.

A P350 registration fee will be sought from participants in the 30-kilometer foot race, while P250 for the 10 kilometers, P200 for the five kilometers and P100 for the three-kilometer run.

Medals and singlets will be awarded to the top winners, including a master's champion for the 40 and above participants and four age division champions.

Proceed of the event will go to the various projects of the boy's high Class '79 which will include assistance to the victims of the recent calamities which struck the region.

Interested participants may now register at Tea House SM or at the Laperal building. For more inquiries, contact Jeffrey Perez at Tea House Baguio or the race director at the Laperal building.

Meanwhile, another run for a cause is slated this coming November 29 spearheaded by the Rotary Club of Baguio South which is the 3 and 5 km run at the Burnham Lake Drive which will start at 6 a.m.

Dubbed "Takbo para sa maayos na Baguio" is a fund raising drive for the club's medical-optical-dental missions under the leadership of the Club's president Romeo Cortez and chaired by Elizabeth Ong.

Cool City Running Group will once again handle the technical aspect of the race. Cash prizes will be given to the top five finishers in each division and a certificate of finish will be handed to all participants.

Registration fee for the 5k and 3k were pegged at P300 and P200, respectively, which is now ongoing at the Laperal building.
