Although it is for free, the office of the city mayor will give away complimentary passes to control the crowd on a first-come-first-served basis.
The Pacquiao-Clottey special will set the stage for what many believe will be an intriguing contest and although Pacquiao is the overwhelming favorite, Clottey’s trainer Lenny de Jesus warned the Pacquiao camp and his legions of fans not to underestimate the tough, strong and bigger fighter from Ghana.
Another pay-per-view site will be at the SM City Baguio where all four cinemas would be dedicated for the welterweight championship fight.
Tickets are sold at the gates pegged at P400. All four cinemas can accommodate 2,013 patrons.
A pay-per-view station will also be set up in La Trinidad at the Cordillera Career Development College where tickets will be sold at the gates worth P200. The venue can accommodate at least 4,000 viewers.
A sellout crowd of 45,000 is expected for the fight in the new billion dollar Dallas Cowboys Stadium. The fight will also be televised on HBO pay-per-view.
According to StubHub, this is the most affordable fight among the ticket broker’s highest-grossing boxing events.
The average ticket price for this fight is $131, compared to Mayweather-Oscar de la Hoya ($1,892) and Pacquiao-de la Hoya ($1,081), both were held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
