Baguio schools rule Luzon Milo Olympics

UNIVERSITY of Baguio Elementary School and Baguio City National High School stamped their class to take the over-all plum in the recently 2010 Milo Little Olympics in Lingayen, Pangasinan.

The UB squad had a 158 total points in the three-day competition to win the over-all plum in their division following their wins in chess, swimming, and tae kwon do.

UB–Elementary snatched the championship crown in girls chess led by Kaissa Ancheta, Cary Hazel Labarda and Mikaela Rapadas while the boys squad from Baguio Central School took the title.

Also winning the championship in the three day competition from UB – Elementary are the boy’s swimming composed of Joshua Carlo Fernandez, Jenkins Lorenzo Labao, Karl Christian Orduña and Kevin Chester Orduña.

Winning the runner up plum are the tae kwon do boys and girls from UB while the lean and men delegates from BCU earned a championship in lawn tennis boys and a runner-up finish in the girls lawn tennis.

The young UB squad also took home two gold medals and one silver in boys athletics led by Yussef Lorana.

In the high school division, BCNHS amassed 158 points defeating erstwhile rival UB High School for the over-all crown in the high school division following their victories in athletics girls, gymnastics, while having runner-up finish in lawn tennis, tae kwon do girls and volleyball girls.

The UB Red Robins on the other hand cored victories in girls’ chess led by Kyla Joy Camacho, Darlene Eloisa Ancheta, Beverly Bendal, Fatima Joy Cruz, and Angelique Chavez.

UB also took the crown in the girls swimming courtesy of Jasmine Jade Chan, Elijah Arielle Fernandez, Rhodora Mae Galeno, Ernalou Denzelle Labao and Ma. Elouise Lawrence Labao while the boys squad of UB went home with a runner-up finish coming from Osman Digermo, Alvin Dyquiangco, Kristian Dyquiangco, and Micheal Anhony Soria.

The girls table tennis squad also took home the championship crown courtesy of Aireen Quennie Amgao, Marjorie Ballesteros, Kathdleen Joyce Solamo, Frances Elinor Villanueva, and Jan Crystelle Paman.
