THE University of Cordilleras Lady Jaguars and Ballers pulled off contrasting wins against separate foes to start their campaign in the women’s division of the second Miners Cup basketball invitational tournament.
The lady Ballers downed the lady Saints Wednesday evening, 47–41, while the UC Lady Jaguars waylaid the BCNHS Women squad, 102–34 Thursday afternoon.

After ending the first period with an eight-all count, the lady Ballers outscored the lady Saints in the second period then secured their lead all throughout the ball game to earn their first victory in as many outings in the tournament backed by CLUB 7882 SLU – Boys High School, Gary Lee Leighton, and Smart Telecommunications.
The Jaguars opened the first period with a 25-point spurt while limiting BCNHS to only seven in the first period.
From then on, the 23rd BBEAL women’s basketball runner-up never looked back and registered their first victory handling their younger counterparts their first loss after a win in the opener in the tournament also supported by Leverson Brothers, Chittick Fire and Security Services and Connex.
