BAGUIO City National High School (BCNHS) scored 270 points and placed second overall in the recently concluded National Cheerleading Championship (NCC) High School Coed division.
After a 13th place finish last year, BCNHS catapulted to second place in the overall standing but fell short of edging Taguig Science High School by a point for the overall national plum.

BCNHS led the scores in basic elements and tumbling category and had only one deduction but Taguig was way ahead in stunts, tosses and pyramids to win the championship despite having a deduction of eight points.
“Had we not had a deduction, we might have won the championship,” said BCNHS Cheerdance coach Alvin Santos.
The win came after the University of the Cordilleras (UC) scored a second place finish in the collegiate coed division despite being the crowd favorite.
The UC dance squad failed to take the overall title in the national finals bowing to eventual winner Central Colleges of the Philippines which won the 2010 championship after losing it for two years.
UC, however, has the bragging rights of defeating defending champion University of Perpetual Help which placed third overall in the 19-squad competition.
Rizal High School took the third place overall after accumulating 264.5 points while Taguig National High School scored 264.4 points in five categories to land fourth.
In fifth place is Collegio San Agustin Biñan after scoring 261 points.
The NCC is the first and only cheerleading competition utilizing international rules, regulations, and standards.
This year, the NCC is once again bringing in International coaches who will help facilitate the competitions and events.
