KEVIN Belingon made his countrymen and teammates in Team Lakay beam with proudness anew after stopping his opponent in the Sentosa Martial Combat(tm) during the second night of Asia's biggest Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Championship in Singapore.
Named "The Silencer", Belingon took on Ngoo "The Indomitable" Ditty from Thailand which drew to a successful close as an almost capacity crowd at the Compass Ballroom, Resorts World Sentosa, where local boy Mitch Chilson took the Superfight Championship Belt.
The crowd was up for it and with only 2 min 51 sec on the clock in the first round, Belingon was awarded a technical knockout having rained blow after blow while pinning a helpless Ditty on the ground.
Since being crowned the Flyweight Champion in the Universal Reality Combat Championship, Belingon had 3 title defense and a Superfight win here in the country.
"I'm very glad that URCC chose me to be sent to ESPN`s Martial Combat in Singapore," said Belingon in an earlier interview. "It actually motivates me to showdown between Chilson and Taiwanese fighter Zhang Jing Xong."
Fans can look forward to more fights over the next five months as the series gathers some of the world's top professional contenders in an adrenaline-pumping series of twelve events comprising 60 action-packed fights from May to October 2010.
Resorts World(r) Sentosa Martial Combat(tm) is the only MMA event officially recognized and sanctioned by two of the world's leading governing bodies in the martial arts scene, the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Federation (AMMAF) and the World Martial Arts Federation of Singapore.
