Unanimously signed by the legislative body of the province, the resolution said, "the displaced and homeless population was immediately evacuated to schools, churches and private facilities."

The resolution highlighted the support of the multi sector in and around the province.

"The general public, including various churches, businessmen and corporate enterprises partnered with government in extending food, water, clothing, shelter, medicine and finances to the bereaved, displaced and homeless."

The local board said, "Although the indomitable spirit and the strength of our people and help from the Divine Almighty, the province of Benguet will rebuild itself, we appeal to the public, various sectors, non-government organizations, concerned government agencies, foreign donors, friends and benefactors to extend [further] assistance to the victims, their families and relatives."

There have been a growing number of needy families being given with relief goods, more assistance from the general public is needed.

The local board is requesting donations to be coursed through the province's social welfare and development office.
