AGUINALDO, Ifugao -- The local government unit (LGU) received P400,000 from the SN Aboitiz Power Magat, Inc (SNAP-Magat Inc.) as livelihood assistance.
The amount was formally turned-over to the LGU through Mayor Clemente Talusig to fund the sugarcane production of the municipality.
Talusig said the amount will augment the funding of the Comprehensive Livelihood Enterprise and Marketing Development Program (CLEMDP) of the municipal government. He said the CLEMDP is granting loans for livelihood projects such as gardening, hog raising and water lily handicrafts making.
“Since we are granted an augmentation we are to include sugarcane production now which is to be piloted at Barangay Damag. We hope that this is just the initial grant because we will be requesting for more funding of the livelihood projects," Talusig added.
Veronica Adsuara, Corporate Social Responsibility specialist of SNAP Magat, Inc., said their office is always willing to support and provide funds as capital for livelihood projects from requesting agencies or organizations.
She said the organizations who are asking for livelihood grants should have complete documents to be able to get grants from their company. (Marcelo L. Lihgawon)
