EVERYTHING this year is stamped “centennial.”
Centennial Scouting month this October, Centennial Senior citizens, Centennial Chinese moon cake festival, Mr. Baguio Centennial, and Centennial Halloween at the end of this month. These are just a few of the centennial activities going on.

The unveiling of the Centennial marker in front of city hall, may also be done anytime, maybe this month. As with the postponed launching of the Baguio Flower Festival.
According to Mayor Reinaldo Bautista, Jr., during the Ugnayan last week, the activities have to be re-set.
“We cannot be celebrating and rejoicing when most of the greater Manila area is mourning and suffering the aftermath of Typhoon Ondoy,” he said, referring to floods that claimed lives and extensively destroyed properties in some areas in Manila.
The announcements are forthcoming, he said.
Other centennial activities calendared this month are: the anniversary of the Brown Madonna in Asin, 4th; Octoberbest as sponsored by the National Correspondents Club of Baguio (NCCB) on the 5th; Arts Workshop, Battle of the Bands by the Hotel and Restaurant Association of Baguio (HRAB), and Mr. Baguio Centennial Pre-qualification of Mr. Universe; all on October 10.
The National Population Quiz shall be done, after a motorcade and press conference at Teachers Camp, on October 14 and 15; the first Catholic Revival conference on the 16th to the 18th; Octoberbest at the Abanao Square on the 17, as with the DSWD’s recognition of World Day of Overcoming of Extreme Poverty.
On October 18, Sunday, the awarding for Builders of Baguio, institution category shall be on the 18th at the University of Baguio Gym, at 2 p.m.
On October 20, flower growers at the Baguio Orchidarium showcase their beauties in a garden show; 21st to 22nd, Young Evangelists revival, and Philippine College of Physicians conferences; 22nd to 24th, HRAB Marketing Strategies Conference.
The Builders of Baguio awarding for individuals shall be on the 24th, Saturday, at the University of the Cordilleras Theater, still at 2 p.m.
