LAMUT, Ifugao -- Had it not been for an error, the Baguio Arnis Anyo team could have copped all eight gold medals at stake in the event being played as part of the 2010 Cordillera Administrative Region Athletic Association (Caraa).
As promised, the group was able to deliver the gold medals, but Coach Florentino Tolentino is happy about the performance of the team with the presence of its veteran campaigners in the annual sports meet.

Leading the arnis effort are two-time gold medalist Christopher de Leon and Claire Donga-as winning the boys and girls single weapon and double identical weapon.
Team Baguio also won the girls team – single weapon and double identical weapon category while the boys took the gold in the group single weapon category.
“Masaya naman because our veterans showed up,” added Tolentino.
Mt. Province showed big improvement in the competition after placing second in the over-all standings with one gold medal including five silver and one bronze.
Kalinga had two silver medal and one bronze medal to place third while Benguet had one silver and five bronze medal to land fourth in the competition.
As of press time, Baguio is battling other provinces in the combative portion of the arnis event. Six of its arnisadores are still in the hunt for the gold medal. (Roderick Osis)
