City High fundraising golf slated

THE CITY’S largest public school is set to tap its best parbusters as it hosts a golf tournament, which will form part of the school’s grand alumni homecoming on April 29 to May 2.

Baguio City National High School alumni home coming host and honoree classes 1985 and 1960, respectively, will hold the golf tournament dubbed as Silver and Gold Golf Tournament, a one day tourney at the Baguio Country Club on April 25.

“This will bring in MPHS-BCHS-BCNHS alumni together in a friendly but competitive atmosphere,” said BCHS Class of 1960 president Bernie Balatian.

The event will raise money for various projects of the two batches.

The MPHS-BCHS-BCNHS 91st grand alumni homecoming is slated on April 29 until May 2 with various activities slated to make the homecoming more memorable, said Roland Rabang, secretary of the host class, the CiTiHi 85.

Highlights, however, are on April 30 and May 1, the traditional two day alumni homecoming.

Expected to start next month is the basketball tournament, which will have three divisions, the 80s, 90s, and 2000s, said Baguio City High School 1985 director Pigeon Lobien.

This activity hopes to attract younger batches especially those who graduated after 1985 to be active in alumni activities.

Also in the works is a 10-kilometer run slated to start at the Baguio Athletic Bowl, which is being scheduled also next month. This will also have a five-kilometer and three-kilometer fun run.

Earlier, the group successfully launched the inter school chess and scrabble tournament.
