CJH Suites 2 leads Corporate Cup golf

Friday, March 12, 2010

CJH SUITES 2, which outclassed CJH DevCo to capture the Group I crown last year, continues to lead the chase for top honors in the 36-hole Camp John Hay Suites Philippine Corporate Cup.

Fagioli Coffee Club, which humbled CJH Suites by five points last year, also tries to make it two in row in Group 2 while CJH Golf Club 2 seeks a repeat win in Group 3.

Syleenor 1 is the other defending champion in Group 4 of the tournament, a four-to-play, three-count format event sponsored by Camp John Hay Manor, Rudy Project and Warbird.

With Jung Soo Park, Hun Jeong, Bob Patterson and Raul Molintas on the firing end, CJH Suites 2 overwhelmed 2008 champion CJH DevCo in a duel of home teams to rule the centerpiece event via a 12-point romp under the Molave scoring system last year.

Park and Jeong, who also finished 1-2 in the individual competition, are expected to be back for CJH Suites 2 but a host of others will be out to foil their bid in the tournament, a four-to-play, three-to-count format event spread over three days.

A brand-new Toyota Innova is up for grabs as hole-in-one prize in the event spread over three days using the Molave scoring system, which got going Tuesday at the John Hay Golf Club.

Over 300 players from 70 teams are seeing action in the 22nd staging of the annual event featuring the country’s leading golfing firms and organizations.(Roderick Osis)
