THE establishment of a multi-purpose commercial complex in La Trinidad, Benguet is a public demand for a progressive development. It is however unfortunate, but natural for the opposing adjoining resident-owners to invoke their prerogative of safeguarding their personal interest as well as protecting the general welfare of the protesting sectoral group.
Technically, the guise of the protest is focused on the transparency issue with legal matters centered on public consultation.

To simplify the issue, this ordinary citizen believes that the Local Government Unit (LGU) of La Trinidad prioritized public serviced demands for the general welfare, more than technicalities and the foremost delivery of social justice rather than requiring transparent consensus decision processes.
As long as the proposed La Trinidad mall is not a venue for the nuisance chicken dung multimillion business, but a genuine agro-industrial establishment with dignified multi-purpose commercial complex. If La Trinidad had previously welcomed the nuisance chicken dung trade against healthful living, why question the establishment of an ideal multi-purpose commercial complex for socio-economic stability and prosperity measure.
The fact that, La Trinidad, being the capital town of Benguet should endeavor to establish multifarious commercial centers, prepared to expand the profitable vegetable trading post, equipped with various trade schools, educational centers with technical vocational institutions, the desirable colleges and universities.
Accommodating all necessary elements of socio-economic factors of development with diverse agricultural, industrial, commercial trades as well as amusement and educational centers, the commuting back and forth from La Trinidad to Baguio City will maximally be minimized.
It is therefore imperative that we unite to emulate the model image of Baguio for development in La Trinidad, instead of Baguio City magnifying the influx of population from all over Benguet province.
