EASTER College energized the crowd and took the cheer dancing competition as the 9th season of the Cordillera Higher Education Sports Athletic Association at its home court Friday morning.
The Easter Phoenix had an average of 77.7 points from the judges besting Philippines Women University and Cordillera Career Development College who took the second and third place honors, respectively.

With the ninth season opening in full swing, Baguio City Mayor Mauricio Domogan in his speech congratulated Chesaa member schools for such activities, saying the annual collegiate sports meet helps in the development of the youth.
"With this kind of competition, we are veering the youth away from bad vices and joining bad fraternities," said Domogan.
Fourteen schools started their hunt for supremacy in the annual collegiate tournament with host National Institute for Information Technology, National University, Easter College, Baguio College of Technology, STI College Baguio, Data Center College of the Philippines Baguio, and Philippine Women's University.
Also in the hunt for the over-all crown are Baguio School of Business and Technology, Luzon Nazarene Bible College, Cordillera Career Development College, and AMA Computer College.
Also seeing action in the tournament are newcomers BVS College, Kings College of the Philippines and MontaƱosa National College.
Six other sports events will be on top for the first semester with volleyball currently being played at the Easter College gym as of this writing including table tennis, billiards, darts, scrabble, cheer dance competition, and chess.
Scheduled for second semester include men's basketball, badminton, tae kwon do, arnis, table tennis, athletics, and the most awaited Mr. & Ms. Chesaa competition. (Roderick Osis)
