A SINGER, musician, songwriter and dancer, who was once idolized by the Filipino people, and made Baguio proud during the Season 1 of ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Dream Academy (PDA) in August–December 2006 had seemingly put his talents, future and life to waste when he chose to refuse to stay away from dangerous drugs.
Baguio-born Yvan Lambatan, 30, married, college undergraduate, resident of Santo Tomas Proper, Baguio City, was busted with methamphetamine (shabu) in front of the 18 BC Music Lounge along Legarda Rd., Baguio City, where his band is performing.
Lambatan sold the prohibited drug for P3,000 to an undercover agent of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–Cordillera Administrative Region in a buy-bust operation around 8:30 p.m. of Tuesday.
The illicit drug, which was contained in a heat-sealed, transparent, plastic sachet, has an approximate weight of .30 gram.
Lambatan is now criminally charged before the Office of the City Prosecutor in Baguio, for Violation of Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), specifically sale of dangerous drugs.
His name started surfacing in the illegal drug trade in 2010, and he was even nearly arrested at one instance.
