THE Baguio City vice mayor asked the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to expedite the repair and restoration of national roads in Baguio that were damaged by typhoon.
Six months after Typhoon Pepeng brought havoc in Northern Luzon, at least three major roads and smaller roads have not been repaired yet until today, said Vice Mayor Daniel Farinas.

Some of these roads include the eroded portions of Bokawkan Road, Marcos Highway, and Kennon Road.
In a proposed resolution, Farinas pointed the worsening condition of these roads that hassles commuting public, tourists, business exporting enterprises and residents along the affected areas.
Farinas said “there is a need to immediately act upon the worsening condition of the damaged roads to prevent further problems which may endanger the lives and limbs of our constituents and visitors.”
The vice mayor also asked the City Engineers Office to coordinate with the DPWH and prepare a comprehensive report on all roads under the maintenance of the said department. (Rimaliza Opiña)
