Baklava
-A A +ASaturday, August 4, 2012
BAKLAVA is known to be one of the best desserts in the whole world. Not to mention the mochi ice cream of Japan, the churros of Spain, gelato of Italy, galub jamun of India, apple pie of the U. S. and the maple taffy of Canada and others. Baklava is a Turkish dessert which is a rich, sweet pastry made of layers of filo pastry filled with chopped nuts such as pistachio, walnuts, almond and nutmeg and is sweetened with syrup and honey.
The CISV (Children’s International Summer Villages) Philippine delegation to Turkey from Baguio namely Christine G. Baclit, Joelle F. Bautista, Karl Matthieu B. Rillera, Theodore Gojan B. San Jose and adult leader Tolitz B. Villanueva were very fortunate enough to have experienced a mixture of the western and eastern cultures in Bursa and Istanbul. A one month village along with delegates from over 13 countries made such a great Anatolian summer despite the heat.
CISV inspires and educates action for a more just and peaceful world.
