SEVEN hundred children of Bakakeng Norte/Sur were full of joy as they enter their final month of this academic year as the Purok 7 Association of Bakakeng Norte/Sur conducted P7 Children’s Day on March 1,2013 held at Bakakeng Elementary (BES) School Grounds.
The celebration includes a feeding activity, games and a talk from the Barangay Nutrition Action Officer Nardo Agpad about ways on how to give importance to health.
Agpad clearly stated that health-related activities should not only be conducted during Nutrition Months in order to consistently remind the people especially the children to care for their health.
The Children’s Day was the first to be conducted in the Barangay and residents are expecting that there will be activities to be held prior to this.
The treasurer of the Association Femia Fagcangan said that they are willing to pursue more activities for the children as long as sponsors and donators would continuously come and help children.
“Funds of this activity came from the residents and Hapee toothpaste gave products to these children while Solane provided materials for the cooking of food which really helped to the success of this Children’s Day,” Fagcangan added.
Meanwhile, Precy King-eo, the Purok 7 Leader said that they have plans of conducting a feeding program to selected elementary students.
Purok 7 Association is an organization in the said barangay active in conducting various activities for their members and now, going beyond, to the children. (Raymond S. Sakiwat)
