THE Bautista clan, the Amado, Fernando, Vicente and Conrado (from the eldest to the youngest) Bautista families held a family reunion last March 9 at the University of Baguio Centennial Hall.
“Tatay Nando,” educator and founder of the University of Baguio, was the second to the eldest among a family of four siblings. Amado (+) an accountant and businessman (printing press), being the eldest in the Bautista family was responsible for sending his younger brother Fernando (+) to school. Because of financial constraints, Fernando became an educator instead of his wish to become a lawyer. Amado and Fernando helped their brother Vicente into medical school but unfortunately, his (Vicente) life was short lived. Conrado, in the meantime, became a mechanical and electrical engineer also with the help of his brothers.
Their parents Placido Ampon Bautista and Benedicta “Bitang” Gonzaga were very proud of their children’s achievements.
Amado is married to “Mercedes “Menching” Tan (+). They have two children Antonio (+)/ (Fely) and Amading (Nita). He has 11 grandchildren and 23 great grand children.
Lolo Tatay Nanding and Lola Nanay Rosa have eight children. Fer (+) (Mila), Bnn (Malu), Rhey (Dheb), Des (Aurora), Herr (Leonie), Gil (Lilia), Jojo (+) (Fe/Bubut) and Lynn (Bootchie). Up to this date, Lolo Tatay and Lola Nanay have 47 grandchildren and 61 great grand children.
Vicente married to Nanay Mapalad “Palad” Hilario has four children, Angelina (Constantino Florendo Villanueva (+)), Rolando “Totoy” (+) (Carmencita “Mameng” Ayosa (+)and Vicente “Junior” (+) (Teresita “Tessie” Pascual/Natividad de Jesus “Naty”). The youngest is Eduardo who died at the tender age of three years old. Vicente has 15 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
Conrado “Dading” married to Celedonia “Chedeng” Biazon, (the only one living from the first generation) who is now 87 years old has 10 children Conrad (Emi), Cesar (+) (Sally), Cecille (Reggie), Carrie (+), Cynthia (Armin), Cris (Belle), Clarisa (Gene), Ching (Benjie (+), Carol (Tom) and Dada (Robbie). Conrado has 20 grand children and four great grandchildren.
The opening prayer was lead by doctor of education, Virgilio “Gil” and the words of welcome by Architect Abu son of Architect Benjamin “Bnn” in his father’s absence. This was followed by the presentation and messages of the different clans.
An intermission by the FRB scholars, “the UB Dance Sport Cardinals” entertained the guests. A sumptuous dinner was served followed by fellowship and socials. Dr. Reynaldo “Rey” made the closing remarks and enjoined the clan for another reunion next year that is tentatively scheduled on March 8 and 9, 2014. Ms. Shirley Diño and Dr. Annabelle Quirimit were the masters of the ceremony. A half-day tour of Baguio and a luncheon at Rosebowl was made on the following day.
