MIKE Bocasan's revived clutch shooting brought God Squad back to life in the last minute of the ball game and sealed the team's second win against Royale Business Club, 91-89.

The former Baguio Colleges Foundation Shields stalwart (now UC Jaguars) scored back-to-back triples in the last three-minute frame to take control of the ball game after being down by one, 81-82 with 3:41 remaining in the pay-off canto.

Bocasan's dual triples settled the ball game with 51 seconds left in the ball game after a grueling exchange with at least seven lead changes in their face-off for their second win against two setbacks while dealing the business club its third defeat in as many games.

Johnny Pascua scored a team high 29 points who practically lifted God Squad in the first three quarters to keep them within striking distance.

Pascua opened the ball game with a 9-4 lead with 6:23 in the first quarter.

But Royale fought back in the rest of the first period to end the first period with a 22-24 advantage courtesy of Pope Cortez who fired 11 points in the quarter.

God Squad then took a 10-4 run to regain the lead anew, 32-28, with 6:41 remaining in the second period but Royale bounced back to seize the lead again, 34-35 with 4:04 left in the quarter the ended the first half on a high note 39-44.

God Squad then made another 6-0 run to retake the lead again with 7:48 in the third quarter, 45-44.

Royale, from then on took control of the game for the rest of the third period with Bart Parrocha, and Cortez leading the charges for the business club as it enjoyed an eight-point lead, 61-69.

God Squad then made its move at the start of the pay-off canto as it slowly staved off Royale's lead when it stared at a one-point deficit, 81-82 with Pascua scoring a fast break after a Royale turn over to regain the lead at 83-82, with 3:02 left.

Bocasan chipped in 16 points for God Squad while Dondon and Jing Villanueva added 13 and 12 points apiece.

Royal was led by Cortez's game high 30 points while Parrocha came in with 19 points while Arianne Reinoso adding 12 points. (Roderick Osis)
