THE University of the Cordilleras romped off with a 7–3–5 medal tally to rule the wushu taolo competition at the close of the 23rd Baguio–Benguet Educational Athletic League.
After taking the over-all plum in the sanshou (combat) competition, the Jaguars flashed their true form to win four gold medals in the men’s competition while scoring three more gold medals in the distaff.

Engelbert Addongan snatched two gold medals to lead UC’s charge winning the event in the compulsory chanquan and compulsory nan quan in the men’s division and also taking the gold in the long weapon category.
Elvis Mabiasan won the gold in the fundamental nanqaun while Michael Angelo Marcelo took the gold in the taiji quan category.
In the women’s side, Mary Joyce Wally took also two gold medals in her respective category.
Wally took the gold medal in the compulsory chanquan and compulsory nan quan including the long weapon category.
Kariza Chan on the other hand won a gold in the Taiji Quan category.
Saint Louis University came in second after pooling three gold medals and three silver medal finishes to claim the second place finish with two gold in the men and one gold medal output in the women’s category.
University of Baguio meanwhile scored three silver and two bronze medals for a third place finish while Pines City Colleges had one silver and three bronze medal for a decent fourth place finish.
