WITH the October tournament being shelved due to typhoons to the region, the monthly tournament of the Kordilyera Chess Association will finally push trough according to organizer.
However, this time, two champions will be declared as officials of the first regional chess association bared the last Saturday and Sunday of November will be the date for the monthly chess tournament.

The two winners will qualify for the December grand finals, who will face the other monthly chess tournament champions according to KCA vice president Rogelio Garcia.
"Prizes will be given to the top ten in the competition and the two will qualify for the battle of the champions this coming December," Garcia said.
Garcia added they are expecting veteran players to crowd each other out in the final installment of the KC Association's monthly chess tournament.
This month's edition is expected to draw at least 50 players of varying strength.
Garcia said registration is pegged at P100 for members, and P150 for non-members and a special prize awaits the youngest participant.
He added the tournament serves as a venue for chess players of all ages to to test and improve on their competitive chess skills.
Meanwhile, the first Kiddie chess tournament in La Trinidad has yet to be staged this November as KCA has yet to finalize the date of the tournament.
"We're thinking of holding the event this coming weekend or on the third week of the month," Garcia explained.
Kids below 12 years old of age will be the participants of the chess tournament at the La Trinidad Municipal Hall originally slated Oct. 17 to 18.
Organizers said the event, sponsored by the Municipality of La Trinidad through Mayor Artemio Galwan, Association of Barangay Council president Robert Namoro and Youth Council chairman Johnrey Miguel, is open to all children 12 years old and below.
The tournament is also open to in-school and out-of-school youths in the municipality.
