UNIVERSITY of the Cordilleras Lady Jaguars needed only 59 minutes in defeating the University of the Philippines Baguio Lady Maroons sweeping the volleyball competition of the Baguio–Benguet Educational Athletic League.
The women’s defending champion in defeating UP in three sets, 25–17, 25–16, 25–18, earning for them win number eight and will enjoy a twice to beat advantage in the semifinals after taking the number one seed in the tournament.

With an immaculate record at the close of the elimination round, the Lady Jags will be taking a longer break together with Saint Louis University Lady Navigators who also clinched an automatic semis slot.
The Lady Navigators, who fell prey to the Lady Jaguars in five sets the last time out, disposed Benguet State University Lady Wildcats in three sets, 25–20, 25–23, 25–22 for one hour and three minutes during Sunday’s game at the SLU gym.
University of Baguio Lady Cardinals, meanwhile, edged Cordillera Career Development College Lady Admirals, 25–15, 28–26, 25–15 for the number three spot with the latter placing fourth at the close of the elimination round.
In the men’s contest, Saint Louis and UC also clinched the number one and two spot after defeating separate rivals also during Sunday’s game.
Despite a five set loss against the University of Baguio, SLU Navigators clinched the number one spot after edging CCDC Admirals in four sets, 17–25, 25–18, 25–8, 25–15 in one hour and 14 minutes.
Men’s defending champion UC Jaguars also took a the number two spot and enjoy a twice to beat advantage after downing the UP Fighting Maroons in 39 minutes, 25–4, 25–11, 25–3 also during Sunday’s game.
University of Baguio also closed out the eliminations with a win against the Benguet State U Wildcats, 25–20, 25–14, 25–19. (Roderick Osis)
