Volunteer relatives and friends of PDEA–CAR employees were likewise invited to participate in the noble undertaking of giving life, which is hoped to be of great help, especially to patients who hail from poor families.
This blood donation affair serves as PDEA–CAR’s main activity for the 17th International Day of Families (IDF) Celebration, with the theme, “Confronting Family Poverty and Social Exclusion.”
The activity is aimed to strengthen the ties in the office and in the families of participating units, as it is also intended to support the United Nations IDF program.
Undersecretary Jose Gutierrez Jr., the director general of PDEA, constantly encourages the regional offices to coordinate programs that would build up the worldwide Drug Demand Reduction Campaign.
PDEA–CAR has extended its celebration of IDF 2011 into a month-long event, in which some of the other projects lined up were: sports fest, sponsorship of Holy Mass, college symposium, barangay forum and multi-agency meeting.
Meanwhile, the blood donation affair Sunday will include a seminar on First Aid to the PDEA–CAR personnel. (Maria Elena Catajan)
