Sinot concedes; asks city for continued rental of Asin Resort
Saturday, May 21, 2011
AFTER battling it out in court for a number of years, the lessee of the Asin resort signified interest of continuing to manage.
With the City Government poised at taking over anytime soon, Roger Sinot submitted a proposal to Mayor Mauricio Domogan, asking he continue leasing two swimming pools located in the city-owned property.

Sinot said allowing him to continue managing the resort, in effect, is a confirmation of the contract signed by former Mayor Bernardo Vergara and the Councilor Nicasio Aliping Jr. The contract states, Sinot is supposed to lease the resort for 15 years.
It is this contract, which Sinot used in his arguments in court. The court, however, recently ruled the contract that he, Vergara and Aliping signed was not binding because it was not confirmed by the City Council.
Sinot is also proposing an 80-20 percentage sharing from entrance and admission fees.
The 20 percent would be the city’s share, Sinot said.
The higher share for the lessor is to recoup investments he, his family and predecessors-interest put in.
Sinot requested for a meeting with members of the finance committee to discuss the proposal.
The City Government is planning on bidding out the resort as soon as it takes over.
