Mayor orders removal of Igorot Park trade fair
Friday, May 27, 2011
BAGUIO City Mayor Mauricio Domogan ordered removal of AZKCO barangay's industrial and livelihood exhibit which is presently ongoing at the Igorot Park.
AZCKO officials recently requested from the mayor to allow the holding the fair. Based on inspection done by the Public Order and Safety Division (POSD) the "exhibit" appeared to be a trade fair.

The mayor said only an exhibit would be allowed as requests for the holding of livelihood fairs are being used in the guise of holding trade fairs.
The mayor’s office received two other requests for the holding of a trade fair at Malcolm Square and at Rose Garden.
Both requests were rejected.
In the case of Malcolm Square, a marginal notation stressing a no selling policy was included.
For Rose Garden, the mayor said while the city government recognizes a provision of the Local Government Code that says barangays may hold fund-raising activities without need to secure business permits, this should only be done in an exclusive property of the barangay.
The present requests would incidentally use city property for the display of their products.
Meanwhile, the mayor also announced he would also not allow the holding of another trade fair at Juan Luna Drive, venue of two trade fairs operated by City Social Welfare and Development Office and the Liga ng mga Barangay.
