Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ana Theresa De Guzman said part of the response mechanisms include massive health information drive, which centered in the barangay and market areas and different schools in the province.
She said despite the high incidence of dengue cases this year, the case fatality ratio is much lower as compared to last year, which is posted at .9 percent this year as against last year's 1.38 percent.
Espino said Pangasinan is not the only province affected but all other provinces in Northern Luzon, including Metro Manila.
The governor said all Provincial Government hospitals in Pangasinan have enough supply of medicines and are prepared to offer quick response mechanism owing to the improved facilities, as well as the excellent services of the government physicians and other hospital staff.
De Guzman said there are 15 municipalities in the region listed as among the dengue hotspots in the country. Dagupan City led the list, followed by Bolinao, Mangaldan, Calasiao, San Nicolas, Laoac, Mapandan, Infanta, Binalonan, Manaoag, San Fabian, Pozorrubio, Asingan, Anda and Bani. (PNA)
