Customs chief inks agreement with Benguet

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Governor Nestor Fongwan is optimistic for a better vegetable industry after meeting newly installed Bureau of Customs Commissioner Ruffy Biazon Monday.
Fongwan said plans to containerize the San Fernando port will benefit the province’s vegetable trade.

The move will open the province and its products to the international market, he added.
Fongwan said the containerization of the San Fernando port will lower costs for freight coverage as well as transport cost for businesses in the Northern Luzon cluster. It is also seen to generate over 20,000 jobs in the area.
