Police arrest illegal recruiter

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A wanted woman was finally caught by police this Christmas season.
Joint operatives of the Provincial Intelligence Branch, Benguet Police and Regional Public Safety Battalion, Police Regional Office 1 arrested the most wanted person of Rosario, La Union last December 8 at No. 111 Avocado Drive, Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City.
The suspect was identified as Irene Rivera Cudiamat, 31, single and a native of Amabangonan, Rosario, La Union. She was found guilty on illegal recruitment and estafa.
The warrant of arrest on illegal recruitment and estafa under criminal case 31860–R was issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 5 Presiding Judge Antonio Estevez.
Another warrant of arrest on a separate estafa and illegal recruitment case was issued by RTC branch 60 Presiding Judge Edilberto Claravall against the suspect. The bail bond for illegal recruitment is P40,000 and P16,000 for estafa case.
The arrested suspect was then working as a house helper of Alexander Urmanov, a Bulgarian and was a regional director of Coca Cola Bottlers Inc. of Calabarzon Region.
After she was arrested, she was brought to the Benguet Police Provincial Office for documentation. Then she locked up at La Trinidad Municipal Police Station prior to turnover to the issuing court for proper disposition. (Rubyloida Bitog)
