CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- The community of Bakun, Benguet helped the police in locating and burning a P12-million worth of fully grown marijuana plants in the town, Police Senior Superintendent Benjamin Lusad said Tuesday.
Lusad, the provincial director of the Benguet Philippine National Police Provincial Command, said it took two days to complete the burning of the seized marijuana due to their enormous quantity.

No suspected cultivator was arrested during the raid but Lusad is optimistic that the persons responsible would be identified soon.
He said the plantation with 7,000 square meters fully planted with marijuana was fully concealed on a mountainside with thick vegetative growth.
Lusad said more raids are forthcoming to destroy all marijuana plants grown by still unidentified persons with the help of the communities in Benguet and other areas in the Cordillera Administrative Region. (Aure Galacgac)
