Police investigations showed that around 6:18 p.m., Davoc went to Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) Station 2 to report and ask for assistance, claiming there were four persons who refused to pay their bill after consuming their ordered food at St. Martin's Bread House.
According to the victim, one of the suspects poked a gun at him and introduced himself as a police officer.
Upon hearing the victim's report, Station 2 Deputy Chief of Police Senior Inspector Dexter Ominga, together with the victim, responded to the area. They were told that the suspects boarded a taxi heading towards the Magsaysay Avenue.
The cops then ran after the taxi, which was allegedly caught in a traffic jam.
Unknown to responding policemen, the suspect Gonzadan did not board the taxi but instead met and shot Davoc when he returned to the restaurant.
After hearing the gunshot, policemen went back to the area where they saw the victim lying down with blood.
The cops then rushed the victim to nearby Pines City Doctor's Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician due to the gunshot wound on his head.
Investigations revealed that the bullet entered the left circular area posterior and exited on the right occipital area of his head.
Meanwhile, the police arrested the suspect at the intersection of Aguila and Buhagan (Bokawkan) Streets.
The police recovered in the suspect’s possession a caliber 9mm Glock pistol with a magazine loaded with 11 bullets.
BCPO Scene of the Crime Operatives processed the crime scene and recovered an empty shell which the police are now trying to trace to the victim.
The suspect was subjected for paraffin test, while the recovered firearm and empty shell were requested for ballistics examination. An autopsy was also conducted to determine the cause of death of the victim.
Gonzadon was then detained at Baguio City Jail. He is now out on a P200,000 bail as of Tuesday, according to television reports.
