LAGAWE, Ifugao - The town officials intend to use the local government unit’s prize of P1 million from being the overall winner in the contested events in the recently held Ifugao Day celebration for the extension of the on-going public market.
Mayor Ceasario Cabbigat said in an interview the amount will be added to their P1-million prize last year for the said purpose. The LGU is the overall winner for three consecutive years for contested events in the annual celebration of Ifugao Day dubbed “Gotad ad Ifugao.”
Cabbigat said that Representative Teddy Baguilat Jr. will also download from his priority development assistance fund P3 million for the completion of the project which is now for bidding.
Senator Chiz Escudero also allocated P500,000 for the perimeter road of the public market.
Meanwhile, Barangays Jucbong, Abinuan, Montabiong, Buyabuyan and Banga will receive electricity from the Department of Energy. This is a joint project of the office of Baguilat and the Lagawe government.
Baguilat will also assist in the opening of the road leading to the dumpsite located between Jucbong and Montabiong boundary.
He also said that the construction of the senior citizens building started last month in the amount of P500,000. The funds came from Vice President Jejomar Binay. (Vency D. Bulayungan)
