City holds training on cooperative-A A +A

THE Baguio City Government held the second batch of free training on Basic Cooperative Course at the City Hall’s multipurpose hall on August 7-8.
At least 68 registered members of small cooperatives in the city participated in the two-day seminar with Mayor Mauricio Domogan gracing the occasion for the welcome and inspirational messages.
Topics covered in the training were: Fundamentals of Cooperatives; Legal Underpinnings of Cooperatives; Articles of Cooperatives and By-Laws; Vision, Mission, and Goals; and Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Updates.
Michelle Agbuya, designated cooperative officer of Baguio City said, “This is a part of the series of Basic Cooperative Course Trainings funded by the City Government and implemented by the Special Service Division of the City Mayor’s Office in compliance with CDA requirements under Republic Act 9520 or Cooperative Code of the Philippines.”
Agbuya added the first batch of training under the same course was held last April 10-11 and more similar trainings to follow as her office is identifying other needs of “beginning” and small cooperatives operating in all barangays in the city. (Ben A. Bentican)
