TABUK CITY, Kalinga - Red Cross Kalinga Chapter is up in organizing school-based and community youth councils as arms in delivering major services.
There are three school-based Red Cross councils being organized that include Junior Red Cross in the elementary level, Senior Red Cross in high school and College Red Cross in college.
The organization is also extended to out-of-school youth or OSYs for the community-based council in order to draw wider participation from the entire youth sector.
According to PRC Chapter Head Glorina Diaz, sets of officers shall be formed in every council as counterparts of the chapter in the implementation of Red Cross programs and services.
To equip the youth councils, the chapter has prepared trainings on effective leadership, constructive performance, positive character, values formation, among others.
Red Cross will also educate these youth about the principles and International Humanitarian Law of the Red Cross to form the spirit of service, while performing voluntary works.
All youth aged 7-25 are encouraged to join the noble cause of saving life and extending help to humanity, Diaz said. (Larry Lopez)
