TWENTY six police officers from the different provinces in the region finished their community immersion program at the Barangay Holy Ghost Proper in the city.
The police officers are currently undergoing schooling at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Training School at the Teachers Camp here in Baguio City.
According to village councilor Darwin Marcos, the community immersion program of the police officers is part of their schooling and training program for them to be promoted in their respective ranks as PNP officers.
The policemen started their program with a clean up drive in the different areas of the barangay particularly the creek and canals, the street, the cutting of grass and weeds, and helping in garbage management.
During their one week stay at the barangay, they also conducted trainings for the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team. They also lectured barangay officials, tanods, purok leaders and members of the community on disaster preparedness.
On their last day on Friday, the policemen together with their higher ups treated the barangay officials to a traditional boodle fight.
Their stay in the barangay is just one way of promoting the good relationship between the police to the community. (Redjie Cawis)
