Tourism department second best performing agency

THE Department of Tourism (DOT) was recently recognized 2nd best performing office in the country.
Based on the Makati Business Club (MBC) outlook survey conducted on June 19 to July 23, DOT ranked 2nd best performing agency with 81.8 percent score where the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas won the first place with 94.6 percent score.
There were 36 out of 53 government agencies and offices that received positive net satisfaction with their excellent performances. Among these 36, nine agencies earned their best performance rating in 20 years.
In 2011, only 25 out of 45 government offices got positive net performance ratings in MBC’s Second Semester Executive Outlook Survey.
The Department of Budget Management ranked 3rd with 70.9 percent score followed by the Department of Labor and Employment with 56.3 percent points. The Department of Public Works and Highways came 5th with 30.8 percent earned points while the Department of Science and Technology has 27.3 percent.
DOT–Cordillera Regional Director Purificacion Molintas said their collective efforts in promoting tourism industry in the country paid off.
She said they had been engaged in the different road construction and rehabilitation projects leading to various tourism destinations in the region.
Molintas further added they had been improving their services which could lead to better tourism industry in Cordillera.
The DOT has its biggest jump from 32nd to second place.
