Regional Director Edilberto Carabbacan said most of these damages are in Benguet, specifically along the Halsema Road, Acop–Kapangan Road and Gurel Road.
Carabbacan added that these damages were incurred during the height of typhoon Helen followed by the southwest monsoon rain.
Engr. Constante Sarmiento, chief of Maintenance Division, assured the public they had been doing their task in repairing these damaged roads.
Sarmiento said landslides and road cuts occur usually on vulnerable areas like in First Gate, Itogon, Buguias; Km. 13, Halsema highway; and Mt. Pulis road. He added these areas are being monitored every time a typhoon comes.
