THE Highland Agriculture and Resources Research and Development Consortium (Harrdec) was adjudged the third best performing consortium nationwide.
Harrdec director Sonwright Maddul attributes this to their dedication to their duties and responsibilities. He added they topped because of the concerted efforts from their members.
Maddul said that these members are from various state universities and colleges of the provinces in the region, government agencies, and non–government organizations.
The competition’s evaluators were from the internal screening committee of the organizer which is the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARD). The result of the evaluation was based on the accumulated two year performance of every consortium.
Maddul said the competition aims to recognize the efforts of the regional consortia nationwide. He added the competition comprises a two-step process -- the screening committee handles the first stage while the external evaluation committee handles the second stage.
The director expressed they will join the second stage of the competition today, Thursday, in the PCAARD central office in Manila.
Maddul is hopeful they could win the second stage of competition. The evaluators will choose the top three best performing consortia of the country.
