Cops nab 9 Trinidad gamblers

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet -- Nine suspected gamblers that included women were arrested in Km. 5. Pico, La Trinidad around 8:48 p.m. last Saturday, September 22.
The arrests were made by the Benguet Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Section led by Police Chief Inspector Melchor Ong and La Trinidad Municipal Police Station led by Police Senior Inspector Arnold.
Among those nabbed were Josie Veranses, 46 years old; Leonora Hardin, 24; Jerome Torres, 24; and Jaysie Torres, 27. They are from Nueva Ecija and all are workers of the peryahan. They all reside in Bayabas, Pico, La Trinidad.
The authorities also arrested Armel Bautista, 40, scrapper, native of San Carlos, Pangasinan and a resident of JF-077, Pico; Nestor Aquino, 31, porter, native of Orbis, Tondo, Pangasinan and a resident of JP-1, Pico; Reynald Magmoyao, 42, welder, native of Balbalan Proper, Tabuk City and a resident of West Side, Puguis; Winston Paltungan, 23, private miner, native of Dalicno, Itogon and a resident of Pol-og, Puguis; and Manuel Codeo, 23, farmer, native of Calasipan, Atok, Benguet and a resident of Central Ambiong.
Confiscated from the suspects were assorted gaming paraphernalia and cash bets of P5,820.
The suspects and the confiscated evidences are now under the custody of La Trinidad Municipal Police Station, while a case for violation of Republic Act 9287 is being readied against them.
