THE Korean Embassy in Manila will showcase seven family-oriented films during the Korean Film Festival at SM City Baguio.

The festival will run from September 26-30 at SM City Baguio Cinema 2.

A joint project of the Korean Embassy in Manila, the SM Supermalls and SM Cinema, the festival is in time for the celebration of the National Foundation Day of South Korea on October 3.

Jae Woo Chi: The Taoist Wizard, Spellbound, Late Blossom, Bunt, A Barefoot Dream, Arahan and Highway Star are included in the Family Time line-up of films.

Jeon Woo Chi: The Taoist Wizard is an action-fantasy film about an ancient magician named Jeon Woo Chi who becomes trapped in a scroll and then saves modern day Korea from goblins, until he meets a woman he fell in love with before named Seo In-kyung. It stars Kang Dong-Won, Im Soo-Jung and Kim Yoon-seok. It will be the red carpet premiere film at SM Megamall on September 18.

Spellbound is a horror-romantic comedy about Jo-goo, a street magician and Yu-ri, a girl who can see dead people after being involved in an accident. Yu-ri and Jo-goo then fall for each other. And though Jo-goo is sometimes scared, he loves Yu-ri enough to overcome his fear. It stars Lee Min-ki and Son Ye-jin. It will be the red carpet premiere film at SM City Baguio on September 26.

Late Blossom is a drama-comedy about two sets of couples who represent what true love is. The first pair is Kim Man-Suk, a man who projects a hard exterior but has a warm heart and S. Song, a lonely woman who works hard by selling scrap paper. The second pair is Jang Kun-Bong who works in a parking lot all day. His wife suffers from Alzheimer’s disease so Kun-Bong takes care of her dearly. It stars Lee Soon-Jae, Yun So-Jeong, Song Jae-Ho and Kim Soo-Mi. It will be the red carpet premiere film at SM City Cebu on October 3.

Also in the line-up are the movies in different genres: the drama Bunt, the sports film A Barefoot Dream, the action-fantasy Arahan and the musical-comedy Highway Star.

The event will also feature a photo exhibit that celebrates Korean culture. It includes beautiful photographs from the Korea Tourism Organization, survey from Korea Copyright Commission, as well as movie posters of Korean films from the Korean Cultural Center.

The Korean Film Festival is one of the many exciting events at SM Supermalls. (PR)
