LAGAWE, Ifugao -- Newly installed Philippine National Police (PNP) provincial director Angelito Casimiro assured the public he will end all illicit activities in the province.
Speaking in the daily program “Humangan with PIA,” Casimiro, 46, who hails from neighboring province of Nueva Vizcaya, said he is bent on stopping illegal gambling, illegal logging/cutting of trees, illegal drugs including the production of marijuana.
Casimiro, a graduate of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) in 1988, ordered all chiefs of police (COP) in the 11 towns here to make a certification signed by the mayor that their area of responsibility is gambling-free.
He warned that a police chief will be relieved from his post if there are three reported incidents of gambling in his area.
He also announced that if there are two chiefs of police who will be relieved because of the existence of gambling, he himself will also be relieved.
He appealed to the public to cooperate with police and put a stop to illegal gambling.
“The policemen cannot do this alone, we need your assistance by not engaging in illegal gambling,” Casimiro said.
He also warned peddlers of illegal drugs police will go after them. (Vency Bulayungan)
