CAMP DANGWA, Benguet– Cordillera policemen will be able to cope with the fast-changing information and communication technology and will be able to render genuine service after undergoing the e-learning project.

Cordillera Police Chief Superintendent Benjamin Magalong said the e-learning project aims to make all law enforcers to be computer literate in order to improve their efficiency and effectiveness in performing their assigned duties and responsibilities.

The e-learning project is one of the innovations and best practices of the Procor, which was introduced by Magalong and now being replicated in the whole police organization.

A total of 22 policemen composed of police commissioned officers, non-commissioned officers and non-uniformed personnel were the first batch to take the initial examination for the e-learning project before it will be expanded to other police officials.

“Through e-learning, the concepts and fundamentals of Patrol Plan 2030 can be cascaded down to the lowest ranking personnel to enhance comprehension and better understanding of his role in Patrol Plan 2030 and the strategic focus of PDG Alan La Madrid Purisima named CODE–P,” said Magalong.

Students of the University of the Cordilleras (UC) under the supervision of Engr. Nathaniel Vincent Lubrica, project coordinator of the school, developed the system of the e-learning project and the Geographical Information System-Based Crime Analysis (GIS-BCA), which is now in full implementation in Baguio City, La Trinidad and other major municipalities in the region.

Magalong said that the Patrol Plan 2030/CODE-P e-learning was divided into six modules. After each module, the personnel will be required to take an examination to test their level of comprehension before they will advance to the succeeding modules to allow them to internalize the lessons within each of the prescribed modules.

The Center for Police Strategy Management in Camp Crame expressed its interest to adopt the project for implementation to the different police offices nationwide.
