TABUK CITY, Kalinga - Tabuk City expects to fully set its computerized real property assessment system before the end of March in line with the Computerization of Real property Tax Adjustment System (RPTAS).
The RPTAS was established by the Bureau of Local Government Finance under the Department of Finance (DOF).
According to City Assessor Jimmy Paclay, the system is mandated on local government units (LGUs) as part of the steps to enhance local tax efforts through efficient real property data bank and processing.
The system provides online database that facilitates transactions and cuts processing time from three to five minutes from the usual 20-30 minutes under manual assessment.
The City Government targets to use the RPTAS in the 2013 revision of realty assessment value in Tabuk, a regular activity among local government units every three years as contained in Republic Act 7160 or the “Local Government Code of 1991.”
Experts from the Systems Plan Integrator and Development Corporation (SPIDC) are providing technical assistance to the City Assessor’s Office for the project.
Aside from the swift processing, the system also provides transparent transaction. (Larry Lopez)
