Polls paraphernalia secured at City Hall-A A +A

ELECTION materials to be used by some 1,278 Board of Election Tellers on Monday are now being secured at the Treasurer's Office of Baguio City.
City Treasurer Alicia Onoza said the election paraphernalia arrived in their office October 21 in preparation for the elections. It is the CTO together with police and members of the City Government security force which are tasked to secure these items.
She said they have scheduled the release of ballot boxes and other election materials on October 27, a day before the elections stressing they require the presence of at least two BETS before they will release the materials.
She said Comelec Acting Election Officer Anita Navalta has conducted inspections of these ballot boxes and campaign materials before these were secured by their office.
The CTO will be on duty on October 27 to distribute the ballot boxes on Sunday on separate batches to from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with different clustered precincts to be served every hour.
Local Treasury Operations Officer Angeline Batan said aside from ballot boxes, their office is also in charge of distributing election forms including posters indicating precinct numbers, appointment papers or poll clerks and BETs, official ballots for the manual polls, election returns, tally sheets, paper seals, certificate of votes among other important forms.
Batan added they will also distribute per BET envelopes for counted, excess, marked and spoiled ballots, keys and padlock for ballot boxes, canvassing forms, ballpen, indelible inks among other election materials which will be used by BETS inside polling precincts.
Some 149,000 voters are expected to vote in 128 barangays spread out in 59 voting centers in Baguio City.
