La Trinidad peace council reorganized-A A +A

LA TRINIDAD, Benguet -- Mayor Edna Tabanda reorganized the Municipal Peace and Order Council through Administrative Order 010-2013.
The newly reorganized council has Tabanda as chairperson with Vice Mayor Romeo Salda as vice chairperson.
Members of the council include all the provincial heads of both national and local government offices and their counterparts in the municipality, the punong barangays, heads or representatives of key sectors and peoples’ organizations, civil society organizations and the religious sectors.
Among the duties and responsibilities of the council are: to formulate plans; to develop and monitor anti-illegal gambling activities and anti-money laundering; to take decisive action in emergency situations through the creation of special action committees with the Philippine National Police, departments of Social Welfare and Development, Justice, and Interior and Local Government, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
Functions of the secretariat include handling of the administrative and technical activities of the council; prepare plans and programs for the consideration of the council; supervise, direct, and monitor for the council the implementation of approved policies, plans and programs; and liaison and coordinate activities with appropriate agencies in government and provide a forum for inter-disciplinary dialogue and deliberation of major issues and problems affecting peace and order.
